چکیده

A total solar eclipse occurred at the ascending node of Moon's orbit on 2 July 2019, with an magnitude 1.0459. The totality was visible from southern Pacific Ocean east New Zealand to Coquimbo Region (Chile) and Central Argentina sunset, maximum 4 min 32 s Ocean. recent Great American Eclipse, 21 August 2017, clearly showed that ionosphere is strongly affected by totality. In order explore ionospheric signature 2019 eclipse, we use data ?110 GNSS stations seeing multiple GPS GLONASS satellites visualize electron content (TEC) in hemisphere. location South stations, end path totality, right before makes TEC act like early sunset 15 TEC-Unit variations, corresponding 40% background ionization. effect reaches only four TEC-Units, 25%–40% ionization, for more westerly observations, where highlight following recovery normality. By applying omega-k analysis, can find TIDs wavelengths around 100 km larger than 200 periods 20–50 min, which supports results Eclipse. Using different grids, also prove robustness analysis.

Ionospheric response to total solar eclipse of 22 July 2009 in different Indian regions

The variability of ionospheric response to the total solar eclipse of 22 July 2009 has been studied analyzing the GPS data recorded at the four Indian low-latitude stations Varanasi (100 % obscuration), Kanpur (95 % obscuration), Hyderabad (84 % obscuration) and Bangalore (72 % obscuration). The retrieved ionospheric vertical total electron content (VTEC) shows a significant reduction (reflecte...

The Total Solar Eclipse of March 2006: overview

This paper provides the overview of an integrated, multi-disciplinary effort to study the effects of the 29 March 2006 total solar eclipse on the environment, with special focus on the atmosphere. The eclipse has been visible over the Eastern Mediterranean, and on this occasion several research and academic institutes organised co-ordinated experimental campaigns, at different distances from ec...

On the detection and attribution of gravity waves generated by the 20 March 2015 solar eclipse

Internal gravity waves are generated as adjustment radiation whenever a sudden change in forcing causes the atmosphere to depart from its large-scale balanced state. Such a forcing anomaly occurs during a solar eclipse, when the Moon's shadow cools part of the Earth's surface. The resulting atmospheric gravity waves are associated with pressure and temperature perturbations, which in principle ...

Search for neutrino radiative decays during a total solar eclipse

We present the results of the measurements performed in the occasion of the 2001 total solar eclipse, looking for visible photons emitted through a possible radiative decay of solar neutrinos. We establish lower limits for the ν2 and ν3 proper lifetimes above 10 s/eV, for neutrino masses larger than 10 eV.
